A Substantial Victorian Family Home in Kingston upon Thames: Planning Granted
We are pleased to share that planning permission has been successfully granted for a substantial house refurbishment, loft conversion and first-floor rear extension in Kingston upon Thames, designed to accommodate the evolving needs of a growing family with three children and a fourth on the way. The design emphasises the creation of dynamic light-filled spaces, improved functionality and flexibility and enlarges the already grand four bedroom detached house to create a six bedroom home.

The key to the success of our proposal was ensuring the extensions blended in harmoniously with the existing architectural fabric, appearing as if they were always part of the house, however subtly differentiating them with a different brick pattern. The loft and first floor extension will introduce 3 additional bedrooms and a family bathroom ideal for this growing family.
The next stage is detailed interior design and Stage 4 technical design, where the planning consent becomes a buildable house. We will share a fuller case study, with completion photography and the story of how the design developed, once the family is back in.
