100 Pall Mall in OnOffice Magazine: Heritage Office Refurbishment, St James's
OnOffice Magazine has published a feature on our refurbishment of 100 Pall Mall, a Grade II listed Stripped Classicism office building in the St James's Conservation Area, designed by Donald McMorran in 1959.

OnOffice Magazine has published a feature on our refurbishment of 100 Pall Mall, a Grade II listed Stripped Classicism office building within the St James's Conservation Area, originally designed by Donald McMorran in 1959.
The piece looks at how we approached the refresh of the reception, staircase, lift lobbies, and common parts: starting from a detailed reading of the building's DNA, identifying which interventions were original and worth preserving and which later additions could be removed, and developing a pared-back palette of new materials and forms that echo the existing rather than compete with it.
The article also covers a moment we particularly value: when the false ceilings in the side transepts came down on site, the existing structure proved to be higher than expected, and the design responded to take full advantage of the additional volume. As Julia Hamson notes in the piece, "If you're careful and sensitive, you can make quite significant and radical changes to listed buildings."
